‘Arts Fest’ is the annual showcase of Theatre, Dance and Sound at Leicester College and returns to the stage featuring 12 learner performances during the three-week long event.

Talented learners from our Higher Education courses; Foundation Degree in Performance Dance, Foundation Degree in Performance Acting, BA Honours Professional Studies (Performing Arts) and Foundation Degree in Creative Sound Technology, will showcase some of their best performances which begin on Tuesday 29 April till Friday 16 May 2014 at the Upper Brown Street Theatre in Leicester.

This year the line up at ‘Arts Fest’ includes ‘In The Republic of Happiness’ by Martin Crimp among others.

New dance pieces such as ‘Elemental’ ‘Enigma’ and ‘Alice in Wonder Wiz’ are also part of the programme. There will also be the opportunity to catch premieres of brand new theatre such as ‘This Sentence is False’ and ‘Tipping the Balance’.

Arts Fest is the yearly event which gives members of the public a chance to view the wealth of talent produced at the College through illuminating theatre, mind blowing dance, inspired sound and most importantly learner creativity and passion.

Liz Valentine, Programme Area Manager for Performing Arts at Leicester College, said: “This year the festival has been extended to three weeks and is jam packed with exciting performance work.

“Our festival is a diverse and dynamic programme with something for everyone to see. There is experimental theatre, devised work, dance, acting and dance collaborations, scripted plays and dance repertoire. You can also visit the live sound exhibition where you can participate in the interactive installations.”
