Vacancies – Leicester College Board of Governors

Leicester College is looking for new governors to join its Board.

This voluntary role will give you a privileged position in shaping an organisation which improves the skills and life chances of thousands of people each year and makes a major contribution to the local economy.

There are around 15-20 meetings a year, usually during the evening. Governors are also encouraged to visit the College during the day, to see it at work and meet with staff and students.

We are keen to recruit governors who know Leicester well, and particularly people who live in the City and know and are part of the communities we serve. We would particularly welcome applications from disabled people, women, and black and minority ethnic members of the local community.
We are also looking for people who have expertise in any of the following areas:

  • Accountancy, audit and finance
  • Legal, HR, IT
  • Creative and performing arts
  • Hospitality
  • Construction, housing
  • Sustainable and environmental industries
  • Travel and tourism

An application form and further details are set out below.

Interviews will take place in May/June.
Leicester College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of our students and we expect all governors to share this commitment. Background checks including references and an enhanced DBS check will be required for this role.
