Skills for Work

Our work skills courses will help you broaden your knowledge and ability to apply for jobs. You may also be interested in these courses if you want to brush up your knowledge of subjects including digital skills, food safety and personal finance.

We offer courses based on confidence building; job searching; information technology for job search; working in a team; work skills; skills for employment; preparing for an interview, setting goals and writing CVs and cover letters.

All of our Skills for Work courses lead to a recognised qualification.

Who are Leicester College’s Work Skills Courses for?

Our work skills courses are aimed at people who want to enhance their chances of finding employment. Most of our courses are free and some can be subsidised depending on your household income.

Leicester College also has a six-week course in collaboration with employer Multisec, who currently have local vacancies. This course is called door supervision award and is designed for candidates who want to work in the security sector. The course offers you the chance to gain real qualifications, and everyone who gets through the six weeks is guaranteed an interview with Multisec.

Further Information

These courses are designed to be flexible with your current commitments eg childcare. Also our City Skills Centre is on Charles Street, is easy for everyone to get to by public transport. Many of our previous learners report it helped them go onto further employment and increased their confidence.
