At Leicester College, we pride ourselves on our relationship with local employers. In fact, last academic year, 94% of local employers surveyed by us said that they would recommend us to others.
As well as the quality of our relationships with industry, we are a major provider of apprenticeships in Leicester: last year 786 new apprentices began their apprenticeship training through us. We also run careers, apprenticeship, and recruitment fairs during the year to help you, the employer, match skills to vacancies in your organisation.
We keep our ear to the ground when it comes to changes in government funding for apprenticeships and other training programmes. That’s why we’ve run free workshops addressing the introduction of the apprenticeship levy and its potential impact on you. Our dedicated employer engagement team works to support you, and communicate government directives in an accessible way.
When it comes to training your existing employees, we offer a range of flexible, part-time professional courses to meet your needs. We offer everything from coaching and mentoring to electrical installation and teacher training awards. Our ever-popular distance learning courses also have plenty to recommend them: most are available at a highly subsidised rate (some are even free) and these courses have the advantage of complete flexibility: no classroom attendance is required, and employees are able to complete their training outside of office hours.
As part of the service we are able to provide support with the recruitment of staff members. This includes advertising vacancies to learners and delivering short training programmes to unemployed adults. These courses cover a number of the key competences that you are looking for. We have delivered a wide range of programmes including customer service, retail, security, health care, and hospitality.
