Who are Leicester College’s Travel and Tourism Courses for?
Our travel and tourism courses are suitable for both school leavers as well as older people and/or those with a bit of experience in the industry already. The appropriate level for you will be decided based on your prior qualifications and work experience – many learners stay with us for two or more years to develop their skills to the required level for employment. If you are aged 16 to 19 and don’t yet have your English and maths at grade 4 (C) or above, these subjects will be an essential part of your study programme. All courses are designed to give you the skills and knowledge needed to work in the travel and tourism industry. On higher levelled courses you will get a lot of industry experience through guest speakers, trips and projects with tourism providers.
Our courses are available at Level 1, 2, 3 and 5. These courses offer different modules which include areas such as: aviation; cabin crew; resort representatives; travel services; customer service; planning and promoting events and marketing.
Further Information
Our courses will provide you with a strong skills and knowledge base, allowing you to enter this fast-paced and dynamic industry with confidence. Previous learners have gone on to further study or to find employment within a range of organisations.
Hayley Hardey
Hayley recommends apprenticeship as route to success
“Apprenticeships weren’t really offered to me when I was at college before I started working. I had to go back to college to do it later in life so if there is a chance to study alongside working while you’re young, I would advise students to grab the opportunity. The blend of experience and learning is absolutely critical to future success.”
