The (Un)arranged Marriage author, Bali, will be talking about his experience of being a writer, signing books, and answering questions from the audience.

This is the first year that Leicester College has been involved with the Everybody’s Reading festival. Lucy Pates comments “We recognise that reading for pleasure has a great impact on people’s lives, increasing our knowledge, our understanding of other cultures and our community participation – as well as improving literacy skills. We do everything we can to encourage a culture of reading and are pleased to be involved in Whatever it Takes (to get every child in Leicester reading) and the Everybody’s Reading festival. As part of this, we are tremendously excited to welcome an inspirational writer such as Bali Rai to speak to our learners.”

Angela Rooney-Tchetchnev also supports Lucy’s comments and adds “Leicester College is a vocal advocate of accessible Skills for Life education with essential community classes delivered across the city. Being able to engage with festivals such as Everybody’s Reading and utilising NIACE’s Quick Reads are really fabulous tools for the College to nurture a love of books with all of our learners, whatever their reading ability.”

There are still a limited number of places available to meet Bali Rai and hear about his experiences as an author.
