With access to materials, media, and expert teaching our level one Art and Design course will give you the opportunity to learn the basics before progressing with your education. Our well-rounded course will develop your skills in art and design by teaching you the tools to use your creativity to its full potential.

This course is aimed at people wishing to further their education within the area of fashion and textiles. You will develop skills in a wide range of areas including drawing development, computer aided design (CAD), pattern cutting and garment manufacture, and fashion design and illustration. You will learn how to design and construct garments and accessories to industrial standards and you will be taught how to use industrial machinery safely.

The course is predominantly a graphic design course with elements of interactive media covering the following subjects: ideas and concepts; drawing; design method; contextual studies; photography; screen printing; computers in art and design; and web design. The course covers the design process, and you will also be training on a range of the latest industry software including Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.

This course is ideal for complete beginners/anyone who is passionate about taking photographs using traditional and digital technology. If you are studying an art or photography GCSE, this is the natural progression to go into a full-time photography level 3 course and progress to university and/or work in the photography industry.

This is a one year course and is equivalent to 1.5 A Levels. Successful progress can lead to entry onto the Extended Diploma (equivalent to 3 A Levels) in 2022/23. This established course is designed to equip students with the necessary skills and understanding to become a creative practitioner.

Our established visual arts department offers this BTEC level 2 diploma course aimed at those who are interested in all aspects of Fashion Design and garment construction. It is a practical course and requires creative talent and a committed attitude. There is a strong emphasis on research, development, and evaluation.

If you are interested in art and design and want to pursue a career in this field, this qualification can help you do just that. You will be led by expert staff with excellent facilities and will get the chance to explore a broad range of related topics including painting, ceramics and textiles.
