The Peter Jones Enterprise Academy (PJEA) at Leicester College is partnering with Leicestershire TV with the aim to encourage learners to keep a video blog (Vlog) of their journey through the Academy.

Leicestershire TV has offered to provide guidance and valuable work experience to some of the learners on the PJEA course this year to encourage young media-makers within Leicestershire.

Young video bloggers (Vloggers) are already sending ripples through the media world, Youtubers such as Zoella, Tanya Burr and Dan Howell are claiming the global spotlight and showing entrepreneurial credibility. The learners at PJEA will be given the opportunity by Leics.tv to showcase their vlogging skills, by telling their business story.

Business Development and Project Manager at Channel 2020 Ltd, Becky Edwards says: “We know how important it is to provide training within a professional workplace, we are keen to create a pool of young media-makers within Leicestershire to help the region with new media production developments. Video is the way forward in terms of engagement, social trends and marketing. With the launch of Leics.tv service we hope we can give plenty more opportunities for young budding media makers.”

Leicestershire TV is based at Phoenix Square in Leicester’s Cultural Quarter funded by Channel 2020 Ltd who has over 23 years’ experience within global media, product and digital communications.

PJEA Business Enterprise Manager, Louise Jones says: “Our involvement with Channel 2020 and Leicestershire TV is a new and very exciting venture.
