Leicester College is delighted to congratulate two of its employers and one apprentice who have been selected as finalists in the National Apprenticeship Service’s (NAS) Regional Final of the National Apprenticeship Awards 2014.

Impact Ducting, emh group and Intermediate Apprentice Joe Cleaver, have all been selected as finalists from the huge volume of entries submitted.

The three finalists have all been successful in separate categories, with Impact Ducting being shortlisted in the East Midlands Regional Newcomer Employer of the Year (SME), and also emh group as a finalist in the Newcomer Employer of the Year (Large). In addition, Joe Cleaver has been successful in being selected for the Intermediate Apprentice of the Year Category in the Central Eastern Region.

The East Midlands Regional Finals are taking place on Tuesday 2 September 2014, at the East Midlands Conference Centre Nottingham, where the individual category winners will be announced. These winners will then go forward to the National Judging Stage of the National Apprenticeship Awards taking place later in the year.

Tracey Kinsley, Assistant Principal for Employer Engagement, said: “This is excellent news and well deserved recognition for the hard work that these two employers and apprentice have dedicated to supporting and championing apprenticeships. As a training provider we are thrilled that the work of our employers and their apprentices are being recognised on the regional stage by the National Apprenticeship Service.”

Chris Swaine, Learning & Development Manager (Academy) for the emh group also commented “Apprentices are an incredibly valuable asset to our organisation.  The investment we have dedicated to supporting our apprenticeship scheme, has resulted in a recognised successful programme, which nurtures and delivers work ready young people. Having our work recognised by the National Apprenticeship Service and being selected as a finalist in the East Midlands region is excellent news and testament to not only our organisations investment, but our apprentices’ hard work too.”
