Family-owned care providers Melton Care Services have won a Leicester College ‘Awards to Industry’ Company of the Year Award.

The company, based on Norman Way, provides domiciliary, palliative and general care and employs 60 staff.

The business, which has been running for about 16 months, received its plaque and certificate last week in recognition of how it works and supports its staff.

The company, which has a strong working relationship with Leicester College, was nominated for the award by a tutor.

Its award nomination read: “Melton Care has proactively supported its staff to undertake training. The business has a forward-thinking attitude and employee-centric approach, a fact demonstrated by the owner offering an on-site creche facility for staff. The staff are confident, competent and a joy to work with. This company thoroughly deserves its well-earned success.”

Manager Joanna Kavanagh said: “I think this award just goes to show that if you treat your staff right they work better.

“We have an amazing team here and I’m so proud of all the girls. It’s more like a family here and this award is down to all of us working together.”
