The inaugural Leicester College Apprenticeship Awards Ceremony will take place on Thursday 25 September 2014. The Ceremony will recognise the achievements of apprentices and businesses within their organisation and wider community.

Approximately 80 guests will join Leicester College, the largest training provider of Apprenticeships in Leicestershire, on Thursday evening to celebrate their successes.

The Apprenticeship Awards have been judged in seven categories, these include; Apprentice Champion of the Year, Intermediate Apprentice of the Year, Advanced Apprentice of the Year, Raising the Profile of Apprentices, Innovation in Apprenticeships, Outstanding Newcomer, and Outstanding Contribution to Apprenticeships by an Employer.

The guests, including 19 nominees, will enjoy a three course meal which will be prepared and served by Leicester College catering and hospitality learners. The Apprenticeship Awards will then be presented by local employers who champion Apprenticeships at Leicester College, a representative of the National Apprenticeship Service and College staff.

Last year Leicester College trained over 3,000 apprentices across a broad range of Apprenticeship frameworks, including Hairdressing, Business Administration, Print, Hospitality and Engineering. These sectors will all be represented during Thursday night’s Awards.

Verity Hancock, Principal of Leicester College said “It is an honour that so many of Leicestershire’s businesses choose to train their apprentices with Leicester College. We are passionate about the value of apprenticeships to businesses, to young people and to the wider community. Our Awards give us an opportunity to recognise the truly brilliant work of the employers we work with and the outstanding achievements of the apprentices we train.”
