A group of ten learners on the BTEC Art and Design Diploma have had their work chosen for an exhibition at New Walk Museum.

The Little Selves exhibition is an initiative by Leicester Society of Artists, supported by the Art Council of England and New Walk Museum and Art Gallery.

Learner Tristan Angus’s Self Portrait won the award of ‘Student Original Print Prize’ the judges said:

“Chosen for its confidence and capturing of mood, this print is technically perfect. The colour and form is bold, energetic, humorous and powerful.”

The artists were invited to use any medium of their choice to produce a small portrait of a person for this fascinating exhibition that proves small is indeed beautiful.

Little Selves is at New Walk Museum and Art Gallery from 25 March 2017 – 25 June 2017
