Careers hub is newly launched at Leicester College

Leicester College is launching a new free drop-in careers hub at its Abbey Park Campus for staff, learners and members of the public.

The new Centre is linked to the National Careers Service and will be unveiled on Monday 16 December 2013 at 10am.

Verity Hancock, Principal at Leicester College will officially open the Centre. John Yarnham, Chief Executive of Futures and Emily Jones, Regional Manager of Futures will also be attending.

The Careers Hub will offer confidential and impartial advice supported by highly qualified careers advisers.

Both Leicester College and the National Careers Service have been working in partnership for a number of years to ensure the best available facilities across the city.

Around 3,000 enquiries are expected to be handled in the first year.

Tahir Malik, Careers Advisor at Leicester College, said: “The team at Leicester College and The National Careers Service provide information, advice and guidance to help clients make informed decisions on learning, training and work opportunities.

“In response to increased demand this service has been extended, to provide an additional facility for learners, potential learners and members of public to take advantage of this free impartial service. By providing an easily accessible drop-in service we are looking to grow and enhance the existing partnerships.”

The careers hub will be open from Monday to Friday, from 9am to 4.30pm.
