On May 23 2019, the bi-annual Staff Excellence Awards will be taking place to recognise the outstanding hard work of the staff members at Leicester College.

Every two years a formal awards evening is held at the taste restaurant, where staff members who have been nominated by their peers, are invited to indulge in a 3-course fine dining experience with governors and principal of Leicester College, Verity Hancock.

This prestigious evening is designed to recognise and reward the hard work that goes into helping our students, innovating learning, building relationships with employers and the community and following the College’s principles and values. There are nine nomination categories to nominate someone for, which are;

• Principal’s Special Achievement
• Supporting students and enhancing the learner experience
• Innovation and excellence in support areas
• Team award for excellence
• Innovation and excellence in teaching and learning
• Working with employers
• Working in the community
• Outstanding newcomer
• Unsung hero

The winner of each category will receive a £500.00 cash prize and the runners up will also receive a cash prize too.

Verity Hancock had this to say about the awards;

“Times are tough but in every part of the organisation, on every campus, in every outreach centre, on employers’ premises and online, staff continue to make an outstanding contribution and a real difference, directly or indirectly, to students’ lives. So please get nominating!”
