The event showcases the work of level two and three fashion students, giving them a chance to show off their emerging talent and exhibit their work in a professional show.

Every piece on the catwalk was designed and tailored by Leicester College’s learners, who were not only responsible for staging their catwalk pieces, but also the creation of the accessories, hair and make-up.Charlotte Bourner, 28, from Ratby, was among those involved in the show.

Charlotte, who was awarded Student of the Year for Fashion, said: “The end of year shows are a great way for us to show our family and friends our designs and garments we’ve been working on. It creates a great buzz and the feedback we get is great for our future development.

“I really enjoyed taking part, especially helping to choreograph it. All of us worked really hard on our finals designs so it’s great they were well received and appreciated.”

Creative media manager Paul Kinsley, said: “It’s exciting to see the creativity on display in the show Runway 14. Our learners have worked incredibly hard on their final projects and this was absolutely apparent throughout. We are really proud of the inspiring pieces they have created. They show how our learners have developed throughout their courses to deliver such a professional event like this.”

The college’s final fashion show at Upper Brown Theatre takes place tonight at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £3 on the door.
