Fashion & Footwear

Fashion and Footwear

We have an impressive range of fashion and footwear courses, ranging from evening and part time courses for a College certificate to foundation degrees. Fashion courses are available at levels 1, 2, 3, and 5 – including a technical award for students still at school. We are one of only a handful of institutions in the UK who offer a degree in footwear: if you want to study for your degree in fashion or footwear with us, routes include the level 2 Art and Design (Fashion) BTEC Diploma, or the level 3 Art and Design Foundation Diploma.

Who are the Leicester College fashion and footwear courses for?

Anyone with a passion for fashion! Our part-time courses can be fitted around work or other commitments. We also offer a broad range of full-time courses at levels 2 and 3 which are suitable for school leavers as well as adults. For adult learners wishing to join a course, you may be offered an interview and your previous experience can be taken into account if you don’t meet the standard entry requirements. Learners aged 16-19 will follow a study programme which will include GCSE or functional skills English and maths if you don’t already have your grade 4 (C).

Further Information

Work experience will form part of your full-time course. These courses are generally assessed on the work you do on an ongoing basis rather than via traditional exams. You may need to buy some special equipment for some courses, and higher level courses often require a portfolio of work which you will show the tutors at interview.
