Art, Design & Graphics

This is a one year course and is equivalent to 1.5 A Levels. Successful progress can lead to entry onto the Extended Diploma (equivalent to 3 A Levels) in 2022/23. This established course is designed to equip students with the necessary skills and understanding to become a creative practitioner.

Our established visual arts department offers this BTEC level 2 diploma course aimed at those who are interested in all aspects of Fashion Design and garment construction. It is a practical course and requires creative talent and a committed attitude. There is a strong emphasis on research, development, and evaluation.

If you have an interest in film and television, want to discover how to understand, plan, produce and present different moving-image products and are creative, analytical, and able to work effectively on your own and in a team then this is an ideal course for you.

You will get the chance to work with clay on a small scale, using design work and various decorative techniques to develop and make a range of ceramic jewellery or miniature sculptures, using your own unique motifs.  We will use hand-building and slabbing techniques, plaster stamps and moulds, and you can try your hand at colouring porcelain clay with stains and pigments.
