This condensed course aims to introduce you to the fundamental tools used by data analysts, providing a sneak peek into the dynamic field of data analytics. Subjects explored includes data analysis on energy consumption.

By the end of the taster workshop, you will have crafted an analytics portfolio showcasing your newfound skills in Excel and SQL. Engage in practical analysis of the popular movies dataset, demonstrating your ability to manipulate data and derive meaningful conclusions.

Year 1

You will learn how to transform, organize, and visualize data using widely used spreadsheet tools like Excel. Gain hands-on experience in leveraging Excel for efficient data manipulation and representation. Brief assessments at the end will be designed with a beginner-friendly approach, and will ensure that participants grasp the fundamentals of the tools and can apply them in practical scenarios.

You are required to have at least a level 2 or GCSEs grade 4 (C) or above in English and maths.

This Introduction leads onto The Introduction to Cloud Computing where we look at understanding of the different aspects of using cloud tools such as OneDrive for Business as a cloud-based storage solution, that allows you to store, share, and collaborate on files from anywhere, on any device. Also in this course we will be looking at fundamental differences between traditional networking and cloud computing.

Apply online via the College website. You will be contacted to attend an interview if required, or you will be sent a conditional offer according to the entry requirements for the course. You will then be invited in to enrol for your chosen course of study.
