Course Overview

The course runs from City Skills Centre, each Friday 10.00am – 12.30pm, for 9 weeks. This is a practical course where you can learn simple exercises you can do at home and discuss the nutritional value of food and the impact food can have on your physical and mental well being.

What You'll Learn

Year 1

This course is suitable for anyone 19+ who would like to understand how to make simple changes to their daily eating and exercise routines in order to improve their health and well being. Our course content is flexible and you have the opportunity to suggest topics to be covered and skills to be learnt. Coursework and exams are not part of this course, just plenty of discussion and practical activities to do.

Entry Requirements

You must be aged 19+ and be able to complete a short workbook on a weekly basis with the help of your tutor.

How you will be assessed

At the start of the course, you will decide with your tutor your personal targets for the course. Your targets will be unique to you. If you have met your targets by the end of the course, you will receive a certificate of attendance.

Tuition Fees (19+): £90.00

Additional Costs

The cost of the course is £90.00. However you will not be required to pay a fee for this course if you are in receipt of one of the following benefits:

– Universal Credit
– JSA or ESA (Employment and Support Allowance Work Related Action Group)

There will be no fees if you earn less than £20,319.

What Happens Next

Apply online via the College website. You will be contacted to come into College if required, or you will be sent a conditional offer according to the entry requirements for the course. You will then be invited in to enrol for your chosen course of study.

For enrol and pay courses: Once you have decided to take the course, you need to fill in a short student details form online and pay the course fee. Once you have done this, you will receive an electronic confirmation of enrolment and payment.
