It's not too late to take a chance on Leicester College!

It may seem like an age since you clicked submit on your UCAS application, and in that time you've probably done new things, learnt more about subjects which you are studying, and you may even be questioning whether the choices you made on your UCAS application are still right for you. Voicing these concerns might seem scary, but we guarantee you won't be the only person who is having second thoughts.

Choosing what and where to study for the next few years of your life is a big decision and if you're getting cold feet then you can change your mind if you want to - it's not too late!

We spoke to one of our careers advisors to get their advice about what you can do if you are having doubts.

"It's completely normal to have second thoughts. I speak to people all of the time who at first want to study one subject but actually end up going on to study something completely different. There are many different study and course options available at higher education level. It is important that if you do want to change your direction you take the time to consider all your options before making that step and seek professional advice if needed. Remember, if you want to discuss your ideas in more detail please come and speak to our friendly careers team who can help advise and guide you.

"Going to university is a wonderful and enriching experience for many people, but it's not right for everyone. Remember there are others ways to study too, including at colleges like Leicester College, flexibly online while you work, or through a higher level, foundation degree or degree apprenticeship."

So what can you do if you want to change course or place of study?

If you want to:

  • change the course you study, contact the university or college which has offered the place to see if you can switch courses.

  • change the place where you study. Contact the college or university you want to now study at, to talk them about course options and see if you are likely to be accepted. If you are happy with your new choice then contact the university or college where you have accepted an offer and asked to be released for Clearing. You are then free to apply through Clearing to your new preferred place of study.
