Achieving a Level 3 qualification to secure a university place
After spending a few years working in social care, in a bakery and travelling around the world, Tom decided that he wanted to pursue his interest in psychology and sociology at university. However, to do this, he needed a Level 3 qualification and for that, he needed to go back into further education.
“I needed additional grades to get to university so did a bit of research and read about the Health Professions Access to HE Diploma level 3 course on the Leicester College website,” says Tom.
“Throughout the course, I’ve been pushing myself, seeing how much I’ve been able to achieve. I’ve managed to get high grades on my assignments and picked up a range of practical skills including organisation and timekeeping.
“I would recommend the course to any adult learners who need to get the necessary grades for university and are prepared to put in lots of hard work.
“I feel like I’ve accumulated a lot of knowledge and expertise that will hold me in good stead for a university course in criminology and sociology. After my degree, I’d love to work in Non-Governmental Organisations or charities in other countries around the world,” explained Tom.
