Maria returned to education, pursuing an Access to HE Diploma to achieve her dream of university and a career as a hospital diagnostic radiographer.
Helping Maria to reach her dreams of university
After taking some time out to look after her young family, Maria Rahimi decided to improve her skills by returning to further education to take the ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) and GCSE Adult Pathway courses at Leicester College.
With a dream of going to university to study, before developing a career as a hospital diagnostic radiographer, Maria needed a Level 3 qualification. She found that this could be achieved through an Access to HE course.
Maria enrolled on the Science Professions Access to HE Diploma level 3 and has found it a positive experience. She says: “The tutors are extremely supportive and the material for practicals was very helpful. I enjoyed the group discussions and felt involved in the topic areas.
“To help you reach your dreams of going to university, this qualification is a major step forward.”
