After seven years in nursing, Rose wanted a new challenge in healthcare and chose the Science Professions Access to HE Diploma to prepare for a career in biological services. Despite the intense coursework, she found the programme rewarding and would recommend it to others seeking new opportunities.
Making the right choice with an Access to HE course
Rose had spent around seven years working in nursing in hospitals. She needed a new challenge and wanted to try “something else in healthcare”.
“I needed to get some new skills and qualifications to help me to get to university,” says Rose. “I wanted to move into biological services, working in pathology departments with different illnesses. However, this would be a massive jump so I needed to make the right choice in choosing a new adult learning course.”
Rose selected the Science Professions Access to HE Diploma level 3 at Leicester College.
“It’s been a challenging course; really intense, but I’ve learnt a lot. The tutors have supported me and my classmates, and we’ve all put in a lot of work and effort to meet the criteria required.
“For those thinking about an Access to HE course, I would recommend Leicester College. You will gain lots of skills and it’ll open doors to job opportunities and a new career.”
