Learning beyond boundaries
Level 3 make-up artistry student, Savana Groves-Burgess developed an interest in make-up from watching videos on YouTube. Captivated by the satisfying application of make-up, she aspired to pursue a career in the make-up artistry industry.
“I chose the course at Leicester College because I’m really into make-up so I wanted to build a career in the make-up artistry industry, and I thought going to Leicester College and doing that course would help me boost my confidence and go into that field.
“I found the make-up programme was really good and suited what I wanted to do, so I thought going to Leicester College would help me a lot with that.”
Unlocking new horizons
Savana adds: “At college, I learned commercial, doing make-up for fashion, magazines, runways and other stuff like that.
“Something I learned at college that I didn’t know before was how to apply prosthetics and learning techniques for that.”
Savana’s big dream
Savana is determined to go onto studying fashion at university and building a career in the industry for fashion and runways.
“My dream job would be a big fashion show, like London or Paris, or something like that,” she adds.
