Student Enrichment

Student Union (SU)

Being at college isn’t just about the qualification you are studying for. You’ll meet new people and can get involved in a huge range of activities and events, if you choose to.

You may be a bit nervous starting at a new college, so we have lots of support to help you to settle in.

Our Student Enrichment Team (SET) arranges many chances to build your knowledge and skills. These include trips, workshops, volunteering and charity work.

Many of our trips are subsidised so they are really affordable. In the past, SET have organised trips to: the House of Parliament, the Slavery Museum in Liverpool, Alton Towers, Harry Potter World, Thorpe Park, and climbing Snowdon. Take a look at the events calendar.

We also organise lots of events on campus, including talks, fundraising sales, and team building activities.

We ensure our activities reflect our diverse students and staff. In the past this has included International Women’s Day, Black History Month, LBGTQ+ History Month, Interfaith Week, and Movember.

Each year, we celebrate and raise awareness of our students' faiths. They include: Hannukah, Diwali, Christmas, Chinese New Year, Langar, and more.

Active lifestyles

It’s important to us that you are well. Keeping active is one way we support you to do this.

Throughout the year we run daily sessions at each of our campuses, that are free for you to take part in. These include exercise to music classes, football, badminton, archery, cricket, and many more. Discover what’s on by checking on the student teams channels, checking your college email account or take a look on Moodle.

Social spaces and reflection rooms

Each campus has dedicated spaces for you to use to relax, socialise or take some time out to meditate, think quietly or pray.

In the social spaces you’ll find video games, computers and other equipment free for you to use. There are also regular quizzes and competitions you can take part in.
