Apprenticeship Standards
is what the apprentice will be following to learn the skills required to work in their chosen job role or industry.
- Apprenticeship Standards
Apprenticeship standards were introduced by the government and led by employers known as ‘trailblazers’ to include specific knowledge, skills, and behaviour (KSBs) for the occupation. It enables employers to have more involvement as an apprenticeship-provider by delivering in-house training.
The standards are more concise, each standard has an assessment plan. The apprentice will do 20% off-the-job training and learning, progress weighting, and end-point assessment (EPA). 20% off-the-training is mandatory, providers and employers will work together to plan learning activities which will take place outside of the apprentice's normal working duties. Depending on the standards within each industry, modules maybe weighted differently.
EPA is the final test for apprentices during their apprenticeship. It is designed to be an objective and impartial assessment of an apprentice’s knowledge, skills and behaviours. Activities are different for every apprenticeship, but they all follow the same overall structure.
We have an expert apprenticeship team that will help and support both employers and apprentices to achieve their goals.
