Discovering IT through T Levels

Amina Medova is studying a T Level in Digital Support at Leicester College, having chosen to study here after hearing positive stories about it at school and from her sister who had also studied at the College.

After finishing school, Amina wasn’t sure exactly what she wanted to do so researched popular careers and discovered that IT was one of them. She then looked into which IT courses were available and found the T Level.

Amina liked the idea of a course that involved both practical work experience and theory-based study. She also liked the assessment method used in the T Level which includes external exams, controlled assessments, practical summary assignments, and an employer-led set project.

Currently, Amina is considering a career as a network engineer but she is still deciding. There are lots of paths which the course can take you.

Amina says: “I have learnt so many things on the course and through attending the College. I had no IT knowledge when I came here but I’ve learnt that it’s ok to start new things that you may not initially feel confident in because there are people here that will help you with learning and adapting.”
