Summary

You will learn MIG and TIG Welding in the Works. You will be part of a nine-person fabrication team, including two senior welders. There are dedicated welding bays and equipment to ensure you are learning to a high standard.

What you’ll do at work

While working alongside a dedicated workshop team, key duties will include:

  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings to accurately mark out, cut, drill and prepare sheet and heavy steel components.

  • Safely operating Mig/Mag, Tig Welding Equipment.

  • Conducting routine quality checks on finished components while maintaining a safe working environment.

Your training plan

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

You will attend Leicester College Abbey Park Campus one day every week to complete the Level 3 Metal Fabricator Apprenticeship. You will spend the other 4 days every week at work with Dustraction LTD.
