Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
As a Fabrication and Welding Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced engineers and learn a wide range of fabrication and welding techniques within a busy aerospace manufacturing environment.
Your duties will include:
• Learning TIG, MIG and brazing techniques on stainless steel, aluminium and other materials
• Assisting with the fabrication and assembly of components
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and work instructions
• Using hand tools, fabrication equipment and measuring instruments
• Carrying out quality checks to ensure work meets required standards
• Completing job documentation and following customer specifications
• Maintaining a safe and organised work area in line with Health & Safety and 5S standards
• Working as part of a skilled production team to support the manufacture of aerospace components
As your skills develop, you will take on increasing responsibility and gain hands-on experience across all aspects of fabrication and welding.
