Hospitality and food students show off their skills

Students from across the UK attended North Warwickshire & Hinckley College’s annual Salon Culinaire at the end of January including Leicester College students.
More than 140 students travelled to the Nuneaton Campus to compete in a range of hospitality and catering competitions on Tuesday 30 January. Colleges taking part included University College Birmingham, Brooksby College, City of Liverpool College, Shrewsbury College, Central, Bedfordshire College, Leicester College, South City Birmingham College, Coventry College, Loughborough College and Peterborough College.
The event saw Level 1, 2 and 3 students compete in a range of challenges including table setting, filleting a fish, Asian inspired Chicken dishes, gateau making plus many more.
A total of 27 guest judges attended on the day.
Leicester College scooped 2 Best in Class 1 Gold, 3 Silver, 8 Bronze 9 Certificates of Merit.
