Edwards, Hands and Lewis Solicitors are a large solicitors firm specialising in conveyancing and wills to personal injury and family law with over 100 years of experience and are looking to appoint a L3 Business Admin Apprentice to join their team. This firm has 8 branches and this vacancy being based in their Syston branch.

What will the apprentice be doing?

Client Reception 2 x days a week

  • Welcome and greet clients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Direct clients to the appropriate meeting rooms and inform relevant staff members of their arrival.
  • Maintain a tidy and presentable reception area, ensuring it is well-stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Deal with the administration and distribution of post

Administrative Support: 3 x days a week

  • Assist in the opening of client files in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
  • Organise and manage electronic and physical files.
  • Provide quotes and assist with pricing inquiries.
  • Handle incoming calls and divert them to the appropriate staff members or departments.
  • Take detailed messages and ensure prompt delivery to the intended recipients.
  • Assist with compliance checks and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with land registry tasks, including document preparation and submission.
  • Assist with general administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings, and managing office supplies.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

On completion of a successful apprenticeship, the apprentice will gain a L3 Business Admin qualification. The apprentice will spend 80% of their apprenticeship in the workplace and 20% of their time completing ‘off the job hours’ this includes attending Leicester College one day every two weeks.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

At the end of the apprenticeship, there may be an opportunity for progression to a full-time position. During the apprenticeship, the apprentice will gain many transferable skills which can be utilised in other businesses.
