Studying a university level course can have a number of financial implications for you as an individual. As well as the cost of tuition fees, we realise that you also need to support yourself whilst studying.
Leicester College has an excellent team of specialist staff, who are able to talk you through the various options for financial support whilst studying. This includes details of loans, scholarship programmes, and College-funded discretionary support.
Our Welfare Teams can be found in the Student Services areas of each of our three city centre campuses, alternatively you can speak to one of them on 0116 224 2240.
Previously, new students from EU countries had to prove that they had been living in the UK for three years before their course start date in order to get living cost support from Student Finance England.
From 25 March 2016 this changed to five years. Applications from EU nationals for finance submitted after midnight on 24 March 2016 will be assessed for eligibility based on them proving five years’ residency within the UK.
Students already studying, or who applied for finance before the deadline, will not be affected by the changes. UK nationals who have been living abroad will still only have to prove that they have lived in the UK for the previous three years in order to access the living cost support.
