Welcome to Leicester College!
At Leicester College we have a long and proud history of welcoming students from around the world to study with us to benefit from our expertise in teaching. For more than 20 years’ international students have started their university level education with us, and many have moved on to study at a British university to complete their degrees.
Set within the city centre, we offer a superb range of options for international students including one and two-year university level courses and foundation degrees. In addition, we are a partner college with De Montfort University (DMU). Students studying on DMU courses with us benefit from all university facilities, including access to DMU accommodation services, its international office and student union.
We provide a welcoming and supportive environment for international students that values diversity, encourages excellence and promotes success. Our classes are smaller and offer more individual support than many universities. Our fees are also lower than most universities. In 2020/21 our international fees are £10,700 a year for higher education courses (except BA (Hons) in Acting (Creative Performance Practice) which is £14,250 a year) and £6,400 for further education courses.
Our staff will inspire and motivate you through their professional knowledge, industry experience and engaging lessons in subjects including art and graphic design; artistic make-up and special effects; business and management; computing; construction and the built environment; engineering; fashion and footwear; music technology; performing arts (acting and dance); photography and video and travel, tourism and events management.
International Teaching and Learning
Our excellent facilities and expert teaching will help you to improve your English as well as your subject knowledge so that you’re ready for university in Britain.
To study with us, you should have a minimum Average Band Score of 5.5 or more (with a minimum band score of 5.5 for speaking, 5.5 for writing and no other component lower than 5.0) in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) run by the British Council – a ‘IELTS for UKVI’ SELT is required. If you want to, you can also continue English classes alongside your main course.
Studying on a university level course means you will have the opportunity to develop skills and experience, increase your cultural familiarity with the UK, and improve your English language skills both in and outside the classroom.
We know that the prospect of leaving your home and moving to a new country to study can be a stressful time, so we promise that you will receive the support and guidance you need to make the most of your time with us.
