Enrolment FAQs
Frequently asked questions about enrolment
What is enrolment?
Enrolment is the last thing you need to do to make sure you have a place at Leicester College. It is for people who have already applied to study with us and for current students progressing onto a new course.
Once you have completed your enrolment, it will be reviewed and confirmed by the curriculum staff.
Most enrolment for adults aged 19 or over is online and will start on 3 August. We will email you with instructions explaining how to complete your enrolment online.
Enrolment for applicants aged 16–18, including current students progressing onto a new course, will take place in person from Friday 21 August to Friday 28 August. This means you need to come into college to complete your enrolment.
If you are a current student returning for the second year of the same course, such as a T Level, you do not need to come into college to enrol.
We will send you a letter telling you when you need to come to college. We will email details on how to complete your part of the enrolment to the address you provided when you applied. You must do this before you come to your enrolment appointment. If your email address has changed, please update it using your Learner Hub account.
If your grades aren’t what you were hoping for, don’t worry. Please finish your tasks on Learner Hub and come to your enrolment slot. We’ll talk to you about options, like moving to a similar course at a different level.
If you are unable to attend your allocated enrolment slot, you may still be able to enrol at our Super Saturday event on 29 August at Freemen’s Park Campus only. This an an invitation only event. We will send eligible applicants an email with more details.
Applicants who apply after 31 July will be invited to enrol once we have processed all applications received before 1 August. Applicants who apply from 1 August onwards will be invited to attend our Wrap-up Wednesday event on 2 September.
Adult ESOL students can start their enrolment from 3 August. If you're an adult ESOL student and need help with online enrolment, join our ESOL walk-in sessions. These sessions are on Tuesday 1 September, Thursday 3 September, and Friday 4 September.
You will also need to pay any fees or other things such as kit or equipment costs when you enrol. You can pay in person or online. We would encourage you to pay by card.
We know that the cost of coming to college can be a barrier for some people. We have two Learner Support Funds, which help people who are eligible.
If you are 19 or older, you will be invited to complete your enrolment online. Once this is done, we will let you know when you need to come into college for your first class. You do not need to come into college to enrol.
If you are under 19, you should come into college to complete your enrolment on the day and times stated on emails and letters we will send send to you at the beginning of August 2026.
If you are 16-18 and a new applicant or a current student moving to a new course, we will send you a letter. This will tell you when to come to college to finish your enrolment. Please bring this with you when you come to enrol. In early August, we will also email you instructions on how to comeplete your ‘get ready for college’ tasks on Learner Hub.
If you are a returning student on a two-year programme (for example a T level) you don’t need to do anything. You are already enrolled on your course and don’t need to re-enrol.
Enrolment takes place between Friday 21 and Thursday 27 August. Different courses and subjects enrol on different days. It is important that you come on the day you’re invited so the correct staff are available to help you.
Before you come into college
Go into your Learner Hub account and upload your:
GCSE and other results
proof of ID (such as a passport, birth certificate)
a photo to use on your ID badge.
When you come to college:
a tutor will check your results and make sure that you are enrolling on the best course for you
they will give you a student handbook and tell you when you need to come back for your first day at college
you will be given your ID card
make any payment through the Learner Hub (or by card)
we give you a timetable.
If you don’t come to enrol on the day and time invited, we will try to contact you to arrange an alternative day/time. You may also complete your enrolment on Super Saturday. Some courses may fill all their places during enrolment week, before Super Saturday, so please try to come on the day and time you are invited to enrol.
Enrolment for most adults is online between Monday 3 and Wednesday 19 August. If you are a new applicant or an adult moving from one course to another, we will email you instructions. This will tell you what you need to do in your Learner Hub account to enrol. If you are a returning student on a two-year course, such as a T level, then you don’t need to re-enrol.
When you have completed your online enrolement we will let you know when you need to come into college for your first class. We will also tell you if there is any equipment or specialist clothing you need while at college.
Once we’ve confirmed your place, we’ll let you know by email if you need to make any payments for kit or equipment. The email will be from enrol@leicestercollege.ac.uk. Please check your spam or junk folders if you haven’t seen the email.
If you're 19 or older and waiting for your GCSE or other exam results, you'll get an invite to enrol online once you have them.
If you’re 19 or above and signing up for a programme for all ages, you will be invited come into college to complete your enrolment. This will be between 21 and 27 August, along with the 16-18 year olds.
If you have a reserve offer to study with us, we’ll get in touch with you week ending 28 August. We do this after enrolling students with firm conditional offers. If we have places available, we will invite you to enrol. If places are not available on your chosen course, we can talk to you about other options.
If you miss your slot don’t worry, we will contact you to come to Super Saturday on 29 August at Freemen’s Park Campus.
Anyone applies after 1 August can come to Wrap-up Wednesday. You will be able to apply and enrol in one go (subject to course availability).
We have two Learner Support Funds to help support students who may find it difficult to come to college without some financial support. One is for students aged 16-18 when they start their course. The other is for adults who are 19 or older when they start their course.
Both funds are means-tested: you may be eligible if your maximum household income is no more than £33,000 per year. Or if you are a single student or in a single parent household earn no more than £25,000 per year.
The money in both funds is limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis. Apply as soon as you can.
If you are on a two-year programme (for example a T level) you don’t need to do anything. You are already enrolled on your course and don’t need to re-enrol.
If you are continuing from one programme to another, for example moving from level 2 to level 3, or progressing from a BTEC Diploma to a BTEC Extended Diploma, you will need to re-enrol. We will send you details during the summer break to tell you how to do this and let you know if there are any fees that you will need to pay.
We have a team of specialist and independent careers advisors. They will talk to you about your options. You don’t have to be a student to speak to our careers advisors and the service is offered to people of all ages.
Our careers team runs a drop-in service from Thursday 20 August to Wednesday 2 September. You can get careers advice and guidance by going to any of our campuses on weekdays between 9am and 4pm.
Even if you don’t get the grades you expected, finish your enrolment on Learner Hub and come to your enrolment appointment. Depending on your grades, you may still be able to join the course you applied for. Alternatively, we may suggest a different course.
Do not cancel your application. We will move you to a different course/level for you. To secure a place, even if not your first-choice course, you must complete your enrolment.
If you have successfully enrolled on one course but need to enrol on another course, please speak to your tutor. You will be given these details when you enrol. Please do not submit another application.
If you can’t complete your enrolment on your own at home, we have limited spaces in college to help you. You can ask to come into college and use our computers or wifi to complete your enrolment. Extra help is available if you have a disability, learning difficulty, health problem, or if English is not your first language.
Just drop in to any campus and there will be staff available to help you.
Enrolment for Launch Pad students will begin on 5 August 2026. We will send Launch Pad applicants information about how to enrol on 3 August. You will need to go to Freemen’s Park Campus to complete your enrolment.
