19 June 2018
Peter Jones Enterprise Academy (PJEA) student Faith Chauhan won Level 3 Student of the Year award at the annual PJEA #EntFest awards on 11 June 2018.
Students headed down to the University of Buckingham to celebrate success stories and officially graduate from the academy, but the most exciting bit they get to meet Peter Jones CBE himself.
Faith has been described as ‘an asset to the PJEA and the wider College’ by her tutors, always attending college and meeting deadlines.
The PJEA students develop their personal business goals while on the course, Faith’s business idea is all about helping her peers to improve their self-esteem and self-worth, she is incredibly passionate and has received fantastic feedback for her professional approach.
Meet Faith…
Why did you choose PJEA?
I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do after school and this course seemed to spark my interest. I felt as if this would be a great opportunity to learn important lessons in business and possibly life. The opportunities it has presented to me and the topics covered have helped to understand business.
How has the course benefited you?
It has helped me network. I have spoken to so many different types of people and that has opened my mind to the opportunities the world can give. I feel when employers look at my CV and recognise that I have studied in an academy funded by Peter Jones it would put me in a strong position.
What are your ambitions? Where do you see yourself in 2 years’ time?
I see myself travelling around the world, finding my place in the world and to experience different people and their cultures. I hope to have worked with different organisations that help others in different ways to really appreciate the opportunities I have been given.
How do you feel about learning and its importance in finding a job?
Learning is one of the best things you can do in your life and it’s something that you never stop doing. In relation to finding a job being able to use what you have learnt and know what you are good at is always helpful. When employers see that you have experience and know particular things you are more likely to be hired for the job.
Would you recommend Leicester College to others?
I would recommend Leicester College because there are many different courses that you could find an interest in that can take you to the next step in your career or/and life.
