Leicester College welcomed more than 1,000 people to its Apprenticeships, Skills, and Jobs Fair on Wednesday 11 February 2026, highlighting the strong demand for apprenticeships, upskilling and higher education opportunities across the region.
During the daytime session, more than 460 young people engaged directly with employers and course areas including Leicester College students and students from local schools. The public event was then attended by almost 550 people.
The public sessions were attended by a mix of school leavers and parents looking at apprenticeships, job seekers and career changers looking for new employment opportunities, people looking to upskill their CV with a course and others looking at higher education courses.
In total, the event welcomed 1,013 individuals. The College’s Apprenticeship Team also received 200 CVs on the day from individuals keen to pursue apprenticeship opportunities or develop new skills.
Rachel Hall, Director of Apprenticeships at Leicester College, said: “The strong attendance highlights the clear and increasing demand from both young people and adults who are seeking practical routes into secure employment and career progression. It shows the value of apprenticeships as accessible pathway that enables people to gain relevant skills, real workplace experience and recognised qualifications.
"For many, they offer a direct and supportive link between education and employment, while also helping employers develop the skilled workforce they need now and in the future.”
