Leicester College signs up as ABTA Education Partner for Colleges

Leicester College has joined the B2B partnership programme at ABTA, the trade association for UK travel agents, tour operators and the wider travel industry.

As an ABTA Education College Partner, Leicester College will invite ABTA members to engage with its Travel and Tourism students through guest talks, industry insight, careers events, work experience, live projects, recruitment activity and other collaborative opportunities.

The partnership will enable students to develop links with travel industry professionals and will also help to ensure that the College’s curriculum continues to reflect the skills, knowledge and behaviours required by the industry.

Leicester College’s Travel & Tourism programmes, based at the Abbey Park Campus in Leicester, offer practical, industry-focused education, employer engagement and progression opportunities across travel, tourism, aviation and events.

Anzar Popat, Programme Area Manager for Travel and Tourism at Leicester College, said: “We’re delighted to announce our new ABTA Partner status, which will strengthen the connection between Leicester College and the travel and tourism industry. It will create valuable opportunities for ABTA members to engage with emerging talent through student engagement, work experience, industry projects, guest speaking and recruitment.

“In turn, our students will benefit from industry insight, practical knowledge and opportunities to develop the skills, confidence and professional awareness needed to succeed in the sector. By working closely with industry, we can help ensure our curriculum remains relevant to current employer needs and prepare our learners effectively for their future careers.”
