Moving from school to college can be difficult and the summer holidays can be tough for many young people. To help with the transition and to keep you in touch with others during the holidays, we are holding cooking, engineering, gaming and art sessions as well as tours this August 2026.

These sessions are for new students joining us in September 2026 who are care-experienced young people, students with Education Health Care Plan (EHCPs), young adult carers, young people with learning disabilities, those with mental health difficulties, or current students who are being supported by our wellbeing mentors, ASPIRE and counselling service.

The dates and times for each activity are written with the descriptions below. Spaces for each activity are limited. Email your interest and request the booking form by emailing ceyp@leicestercollege.ac.uk.

 Dates:

  • Somewhere in Between - Thursday 6 August, 10am-1pm at St Margaret’s Campus

Somewhere in between… that’s where the magic happens.

Create a collage which shows the differences within you. Explore your transition with the past vs your future, inside vs outside, old vs new, school to college.

No rules, no right answers, just a chance to express the in-between, the evolving, the undefined. Come and create something that doesn’t have to fit anywhere… except with you.

  • My Armour - Thursday 13 August, 10am-1pm at St Margaret’s Campus

Shape your own sense of protection.

Join our clay art session where you’ll create a small, protective object, charms or symbols that feels meaningful to you. Mould, carve, and build something that represents safety, strength, or comfort in your own unique way.

No experience needed, just bring your imagination and let your hands do the thinking.
