The purpose of Pearson BTEC Higher Nationals in construction management for England is to develop students as professional, self-reflecting individuals able to meet the demands of employers in the construction sector and adapt to a constantly changing world. The qualifications aim to widen access to higher education and enhance the career prospects of those who undertake them.
Higher National Certificate (HNC) Higher National Diplmoa (HND) Construction Management courses are aimed towards:
- Graduating T level students, looking to improve their chances of employment within the construction industry.
- Professional career progression across industry sectors.
- Those considering their first steps into the construction industry and management.
- Adult learners considering or seeking a career change.
During your course, you will need to complete the following mandatory level 4 units in:
- Individual Design Project, set by Pearson exam board
- Construction technology
- Legal and Statutory
- Construction Environment
- Finance in Construction
- Digital Application for Construction Information
- Site Supervision Management
- Surveying, Measuring Setting Out
- Design Project
This course is aimed at students who currently have a level 3 qualification (i.e. A2s, extended/subsidiary diploma, Access to HE) equivalent to 32 UCAS Points, or a strong portfolio of work.
You will need to have a GCSE in English and maths at grade 4/C or equivalent.
We welcome applicants who do not match standard entry requirements but who can demonstrate the ability to study this subject at university level, and who can evidence relevant experience.
Due to the nature of this programme, you may be invited to attend an interview. Where necessary other means of interview (i.e. telephone, web-based, CD/DVD) can be arranged.
- Annual Tuition fee: £6355
The level 4 Higher National Certificate allows you to specialise, by committing to specific career paths and progression routes to HND and degree-level study with the Leicester College BSc (Hons) Construction Management degree programme.
In addition, the qualifications may provide links to industry-related and employer-supported apprenticeship schemes that can provide further opportunities for enhanced employability.
The course provides opportunity to progress into employment within construction management.
