We have an impressive range of art and design courses, ranging from evening and part time workshops to full time university level qualifications, expert tutors teach the skills you need to succeed in a variety of exciting creative areas.
Art, design and graphics
Who are the art, design and graphics courses for?
The degree-level courses are designed for learners who already have a portfolio of work and have completed other art and design qualifications such as an access course or the level 3 art and design foundation, while our part-time courses require no prior experience – only an interest in the subject. We also offer a broad range of full-time courses at levels 1, 2, and 3 which are suitable for school leavers as well as adults. For adult learners wishing to join a course, you may be offered an interview and your previous experience can be taken into account if you don’t meet the standard entry requirements. Learners aged 16-19 will follow a study programme which will include GCSE or functional skills English and maths if you don’t already have your grade 4 (C).
Further Information
Work experience will form part of your full-time course. These courses are generally assessed on the work you do on an ongoing basis rather than via traditional exams. You may need to buy some special equipment for some courses, and higher level courses often require a portfolio of work which you will show the tutors at interview.

BTEC Level 3 Art and Design Fashion
“I’ve always had an interest in fashion, when I first came to college I didn’t think fashion was an option, so I picked it in my second year. I went in for an interview and the staff were really friendly and welcoming, they went through all the modules and course structure and I realised this is what I want to do.
