Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships

Each apprenticeship is different: employers advertise different roles depending on what the needs of their business are. However, while job titles are different, your apprenticeship will still follow a strict guideline, written with the help of industry experts, to ensure that you receive a quality experience and achieve your qualification.

The list of apprenticeships here is a guide of some of the apprenticeships we offer as a College. It is NOT a list of apprenticeship vacancies.

Apprenticeships are available at several levels, with the highest being equivalent to university-level qualifications. While each apprentice carries out a different job, all apprenticeships have something in common: you earn a qualification (and a wage) while being employed in your chosen industry. Who are Leicester College apprenticeships for?

Apprenticeships can be suitable for both school leavers as well as people who already have work experience. The great news is that all apprenticeships involve both study for a qualification that’s relevant to your industry, as well as on-the-job training, so you get paid from the start. For more detailed information about apprenticeships, visit apprenticeships.gov.uk.

Further Information

Apprenticeships exist in hundreds of different types of workplaces, from the traditional (hairdressing, bricklaying, carpentry) to the modern (fitness instructing and social media). You can also train as a dental nurse, in pharmacy services, or in the legal industry. Whichever apprenticeship area you choose, you will be carrying out a real job from your first day, and you’ll gain a qualification to help you get on in your field. Many apprentices also stay on with their employer when the apprenticeship ends.
