This non-accredited course is delivered at City Skills Centre and takes place each Monday from 12:30pm to 3:00pm for 9 weeks, starting on 16 November and finishing on 25 January 2027.
This course is suitable for learners who have completed Small Gift Craft Making 1 or who have some experience of crafting at home. It provides an opportunity to build on existing skills, explore new techniques, and create craft projects. All materials will be provided.
During this course, you will learn:
- How to use personalised designs to upcycle small and larger items to create decorative pieces
- How to create intricate designs using various tools including pens, brushes transfers and stencils
- How to develop your skills to create your own design patterns and drawings
- How to develop techniques you have learnt to create personalised items at home or commercially.
This is a tutor led course. However, students can choose their own project in week 8 and 9.
This course is designed as the next step for learners who have completed Small Gift Craft Making 1 or who have some experience of crafting at home. It provides an opportunity to further develop your skills and confidence through a range of craft projects.
You must be aged 19 or over and be able to complete a short workbook each week with support from your tutor.
The cost of the course is £90.00. However, you will not be required to pay a fee if you are in receipt of one of the following benefits:
- Universal Credit
- Job Seekers Allowance (JSA)
- Employment Support Allowance (ESA - Employment and Support Allowance Work Related Action Group)
There will be no fees if your annual income is less than £26,800.
You can only complete this course once.
On completion of this course, you may progress onto Introduction to Crafting and Upcycling or one of our other Adult Engagement and Progression courses.
Your tutor will discuss the various progression routes available to you and provide advice on your next steps. You can also access support from the College Careers Team to help with your progression.
Apply online via the College website. You will be contacted to attend an interview if required or sent a conditional offer according to the course's entry requirements. You will then be invited to enroll for your chosen course.
