Our 7 week Adobe Photoshop course is a great way to learn valuable skills for personal or professional projects. It is designed for adults aged 19 and over and is perfect if you already know a little Photoshop. You’ll learn the basics of retouching and creating photo montages using the latest version of Adobe Photoshop.
The course will help you return to learning, get ready for further study or work in a creative field, and build your confidence while supporting your well-being.
The course runs on Thursday evenings from 6–9 pm at St Margaret’s Campus.
This Adobe Photoshop introductory course will cover a basic introduction to:
- Basic tools and options for each tool, palettes and windows, view menu, and custom palettes.
- Resolution for different products, including print and screen.
- Colour modes for print and screen.
- Basic adjustments, tone, shadows, highlights, and colour.
- Basic transformations: scaling, rotating, flipping, perspective.
- Retouching, patching, healing, cloning, sharpening, dodging, and burning.
- Masking and montaging.
You will learn to use the tools above to fix various digital image issues.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course but it's advantageous if you have a keen interest in graphics or photography and intend are required to use this type of image editing and graphics software.
- Annual Tuition fee: £75
This is a basic course for designers, photographers, hobbyists, or enthusiasts. it can lead to an advanced Adobe Photoshop course and also the Adobe Illustrator or Digital Photography courses.
On completion of this course, you may also wish to seek advice from one of the College's independent career advisors by booking an appointment.
Please apply on the College website. You will be contacted to attend an interview if required, or you will be sent a conditional offer according to the entry requirements for the course. You will then be invited in to enrol for your chosen course of study. For enrol and pay courses: Once you have decided to take the course, you need to fill in a short learner details form online and pay the course fee. Once you have done this, you will receive an electronic confirmation of enrolment and payment.
