This one day course is designed to help various industries, organisations, and businesses better understand the challenges and needs related to sustainability, pollution (water and land), and waste management. The programme will inform and support organisations and businesses in determining the appropriate environmental actions and level of involvement required to address current issues in sustainability, pollution, and waste management.
Over the full-day programme topics will include: - Sustainability and environmental management, purpose, aims and objectives - Eco-Management Auditing Scheme (EMAS) and levels of engagement - Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and embodied energy - Waste management and handling, including hazardous waste - Waste management legislation and guidance - Water resources and treatment - Water pollution, including eutrophication and thermal pollution
There are no entry requirements for this course, but it is designed for adults aged 19+ who want to enhance their knowledge and skills in green practices within their organisation or business.
A short online assessment quiz will be given to check your overall understanding of the topic. The assessment will use multiple-choice questions.
