The level 2 Award in 2D in Computer aided Design is for people who have very little or no experience with AutoCAD. You'll learn the principles of the 2D drawing environment, in terms of hardware and software. Level 2 is ideal if you have some experience in computing. Architects, engineers, drafters, and other professionals involved with design use AutoCAD, by itself and with add-on applications, to create, view, manage, plot or output, share, and reuse accurate, information-rich drawings. You'll develop your skills in practical sessions and learn some of the theory behind Computer Aided Design (CAD).
This unit covers 8 learning outcomes and you'll be able to
1. Use CAD Workstation Safely
2. Use Key Components In 2D CAD Software
3. Create Lines and Shapes Relative to a Co-ordinate System
4. Use Text, Hatch and Simple Dimensioning Routines
5. Modify Existing Drawings
6. Output a 2D Drawing Layout
7. Further Drawing Exercises
8. Mock / Sample Practical Assignments
A telephone interview with the course tutor is required, to ascertain suitability to successfully complete the course.

Suitable next steps include the City Guilds Level 3 Award in 2D Computer Aided Design ,Level 3 Award in Parametric Modelling and Level 3 Certificate in Computer Aided Design all of which builds essential technical knowledge offering broader skills for career development.

You will then be invited in for a welcome event prior to enrol for your chosen course of study.
