This introductory welding skills qualification allows you to learn the basics of effectively carrying out welding operations in a range of joints and positions.
The course can be taken at level 1 or level 2 depending on your experience and will help you to develop the skills required to take on basic welding tasks through to complex welding and quality control.
For level 1, you are not required to have any formal entry requirements, but an interest in, or some basic knowledge of, the welding industry.
For level 2, you should have completed a level 1 welding qualification or be currently working in the welding industry and looking to develop your skills further to increase your responsibilities, skills and knowledge.
Upon completing this course, you can move through levels 1 to 3 of the City Guilds award for your chosen welding specialism. You may also want to expand your welding ability by completing a similar level in another area of welding.

Apply online via the College website. You will be contacted to attend an interview if required, or you will be sent a conditional offer according to the entry requirements for the course. You will then be invited in to enrol for your chosen course of study. For enrol and pay courses: Once you have decided to take the course, you need to fill in a short learner details form online and pay the course fee. Once you have done this, you will receive an electronic confirmation of enrolment and payment.
