This exciting 7 week course, will take place in the Abbey Park Campus Theatre. The Centre Stage; Putting on a Show course is designed for adults who have completed our beginners' or intermediate acting courses and are looking to further develop their acting skills. This course will continue to develop your acting skills and culminates in a final performance that showcases your talents and growth as performers.
Over the 7 weeks, the course aims to help participants establish schedules and the etiquette of preparing for a performing arts production. This includes exploring performance material, establishing necessary equipment and resources and rehearsal etiquette. In addition, you will be given feedback on your rehearsal of material which you will use positively to improve your technical performance skills, for example, projection, balance and vocal inflection. Finally, you will develop your performance skills including focus, concentration, hitting your cues, dealing with missed cues or lines, technical difficulties and audience reaction. You will perform different pieces of material at a ‘Friends and Family’ showcase in week 6. All of which will put you Centre Stage when Putting on a show.
The entry requirements are that you must have completed our 7 week beginners or intermediate acting course and be over 19 years of age. You also need to have an interest in acting and performing or gaining skills that would help when presenting to people.
