This course is aimed at practising electricians who have good knowledge of electrical circuits. This is an industry standard qualification. The course will cover inspection and testing aspects of the current IET wiring regulations, covering both theory and practical inspection and testing and completion of certification.
This is a full cost course. There is no fee remission available and you cannot apply for an advanced learner loan to pay for your fees.
You will learn about: safe isolation of electrical circuits and installations; requirements for initial verification of electrical installations, and requirements for completing the inspection of electrical installations prior to their being placed into service; safe testing and commissioning of electrical installations; requirements for testing before circuits are energized, and for testing energized installations; completing electrical installation certificates and associated documentation; safety of systems and equipment prior to completion of inspection, testing and commissioning; inspection of electrical installations prior to them being placed into service; commissioning electrotechnical systems and equipment.
You will also learn about: health and safety; relevant documentation; factors that affect conductor resistance values; common earth fault loop paths; and methods for verifying.
18th Edition Wiring Regulation qualification is an entry requirement. We require a copy of your 18th Edition Wiring Regulation certificate with the completed booking form. We also require students to be educated to GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English.
Must be 19 or over to undertake this qualification.

A current copy of the BS 7671 regulation is required, along with Guidance note 3
In addition to the tuition fee there is also an exam fee payable of £120.
The course will help you progress in your career as an electrician or electrical inspector. This is a standard recognised by the industry. Progression on to the level 4 award in the Design and Verification of electrical Installations. Experienced electricians will complete the testing and inspection course and then consider progression to the 2396 developing design skills to open up further work opportunities as a design engineer and site QA.

You will then be invited in to enrol for your chosen course of study.
