This six week programme will fast track you into a new career to help you gain the award needed to for working as a door supervisor within the private security industry. Award level 2.
Once you have gained this award, you can then go on to register as a Door Supervisor and purchase your SIA badge and license, a legal requirement to work in security.
The programme includes a wide range of learning opportunities that support you by achieving nationally recognised qualifications including health and safety, equality and diversity, conflict resolution as well as employability and interview skills to support your future career.
This is an amazing opportunity if you want to update your skills and qualifications to support your applications when seeking employment. It is offered at regular intervals during 50 weeks of the year, including non-term times (closed two weeks at Christmas).
You will need to be committed to complete the whole six weeks, Monday – Friday (9am – 4pm).
During this programme, you will take part in a variety of different learning activities including supported online learning, classroom teaching, discussions, research including short media clips as well as practical demonstrations where you will be able to achieve a range of qualifications through both classroom and online-based study.

6. Personal Social Development Certificate
Online learning:
7. Employment Rights and Responsibilities Award level 1
8. Careers in the Care Sector Award level 1
9. Health and Safety for the Workplace Award level 2
10. Equality and Diversity Award level 1
Computer Skills:
11. Internet safety Award level 1
12. IT Award level 1
You will be offered many other qualifications depending on your interest, learning ability, and career needs.
To enrol onto this course you must be aged 19+, have achieved a minimum English level 1 or above with good all-round reading, writing, speaking and listening skills, be able to provide a minimum of two forms of ID and be able to actively take part in various physical skills to protect yourself and others from harm.
Upon successful completion of the course, you will be support with your SIA license application. This will include enhanced background checks as part of your SIA License application.
You will not be required to pay a fee for this course if you are in receipt of one of the following benefits:
- Universal Credit
- ESA (Employment and Support Allowance Work-Related Action Group)
- Earn less than £20,314 per annum
- Evidence of benefits will be required on the application.
On completion of this award, your tutor will be able to provide advice and guidance on other online or distance learning courses or classroom-based programmes. These might include CV writing, interview skills, customer service skills and other short vocational programmes. This qualification will support you to gain employment by improving your confidence.

Subject to individual eligibility and type of benefit, the vast majority of courses are FREE to people in receipt of an employment-related benefit such as - Universal Credit or ESA (Employment and Support Allowance).
