In addition to your learning, you will have the opportunity to enrich your knowledge by participating in masterclasses, trips, and collaboration with art departments.
It is desirable that you can demonstrate good attendance. A GCSE in both Englishat grade 4 (C) and maths at grade 4 (desirable) or above is required and you must hold a level 2 equivalent qualification in a related subject, such as make-up, beauty or hairdressing.

This qualification will allow you to progress onto a higher education qualification in makeup artistry, such as our DMU Level 5 Foundation Degree in Artistic Make-up Special Effects. This qualification could lead to a job as a make-up artist working in one of the following establishments: photographic studios, department stores, make-up stores, salons or you could also work as a freelance make-up artist, photographic make-up artist, editorial make-up artist, T.V make-up artist, video make-up artist, and specialist bridal make-up artist.
Apply online via the College website, or if your school uses the Positive Steps @ 16 (PS16) application system please apply through this and speak to your careers advisor if you are unsure. You will need details of your qualifications and employment history, a reference, and a personal statement to complete your application. Once your application has been successfully processed, you will be sent a conditional offer and be invited to a Welcome Event at the College to meet your tutors, learn more about your chosen course of study and tour the facilities.
